Swimwear comes in all shapes, sizes and patterns. They're a beautiful way to express ourselves and our unique tastes. However, mainstream swimwear is produced in immense quantities with harmful chemicals and materials. We're therefore left with fast fashion clothes creating a constant waste problem, with the UK throwing 350,000 tones of used, however still wearable, clothes straight to landfill. Swimwear participates to this largely, as consumers buy multiple swimwear every year, discarding the previously bought items, and guess what? Swimwear is made out of plastic!
When purchasing and investing in a great swimwear, looking at the materials used is the first step. The list of swimwear brands below, are brands that work towards breaking the chain of fast fashion cheap plastic textiles, and challenging the industries clothes production norms to create eco-friendly materials.
